Nike drops Oscar Pistorius’ endorsement deal

PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – Taking a bit of their own advice, Nike ‘Just Did It.’

The company dropped accused murderer and double amputee Oscar Pistorius, freezing his contract after keeping quiet for the last week.

Pistorius’ lawyers continue to ask that the athlete be granted bail before his trial, for the murder of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, begins. New information about the lead investigator in the case, however, needs an investigation of its own and Pistorisus’ defense team is hoping it will play in the athletes favor.

The lead detective in Pistorisus’ murder trial, Hilton Botha, may learn what it’s like to be left without a leg to stand on.

Cops say Hilton Botha is facing attempted murder charges in a 2009 case where Botha and other officers allegedly opened fire at a minibus they were chasing.

Maybe this will change things for the one-time golden child of the track, but we say who better to investigate a potential killer than someone who may have literally walked a mile in his shoes (or blades, as the case may be!).
