BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – It’s like scene straight out of a movie. In just three minutes, eight masked men stole $50 million worth of diamonds off an airplane in Belgium.
The robbers busted through a security gate in two cars. An airport spokesperson says they sped to the plane and removed the jewels from the cargo hold, while passengers on the Zurich-bound plane were sitting overhead.
After getting the goods, the robbers took-off the same way they came in. It’s pretty crazy to pull that off at an international airport. Talk about a security oops!
Some say the heist may have been an inside job. The rocks belonged to the Antwerp World Diamond Center.
