In Tel Aviv Israel, Hila Ben-Baruch was painted into a corner when her car was towed from right outside her apartment for being parked in a handicap space.
Sounds pretty normal right, nothing special?
Well, this isn’t the ‘you got to be kidding me’ moment. You see, when she originally parked in the spot the handicap sign wasn’t there.
A city worker was looking around the car and then began painting the handicap symbol right underneath it.
A bit later a parking inspector walks by and sees that she is illegally parked and has Ms. Ben-Baruch’s car towed along with a $366 ticket for illegally parking and towing fees.
When she called the city government to complain, insisting that the spot was not initially handicapped, she was told she was lying.
What, did somebody magically paint a handicap spot around her car while she was gone?
Well, that’s exactly what happened. And luckily for her she had this security footage of the entire dubious deed.
After the video went viral, Tel-Aviv officials released a statement calling it a severe case of incompetence. They apologized and all fines we dropped. But not before Ms. Ben-Baruch was able to say, ‘You have got to be kidding me!’
